What a rural idyll! Foxup Barn is an absolute gem of a bolthole in the middle of beautiful scenery and Cathy has worked really hard to think of absolutely everything so that it is a comfortable and relaxing place to retreat to. We have never stayed in such a well-equipped, beautiful, and welcoming place and are already planning our return. Thank you very much for having us and for your brilliant hospitality!
We thought Cathy's place was an absolute gem and Cathy made us feel so at home with welcome treats and wonderful local recommendations and early check in to avoid the snow.
Foxup is very small and we enjoyed hiking out from the barn with no need to use the car if you don't want to.
The barn is beautiful and photos do not do it justice. The kitchen has everything you need, comfortable bed, lovely shower and the fire was fantastic but it was all the little things that really made it special.
We can't wait to come back!
A wonderful place to stay - both homely and luxurious. Very comfortable lounge with wood burner and view from the sofa, comfortable bed and fantastic powerful shower. Kitchen was well equipped for preparing and cooking meals. Warm, cosy and welcoming - we found it easy to relax and unwind. Great walks from the doorstep, and excellent beer and food at the nearest pub in Litton, the Queen’s Arms, a short drive away. Nearest grocery store about 25mins away.

My husband and i needed to escape daily life for a few days, Cathy's barn was more than we expected, peaceful, relaxing and stunning scenery.
Everything in the barn was to the highest standard, We was lucky enough to arrive in the snow, the weather meant we had to stay a extra night, Cathy and Phil couldn't of been more helpful, bringing us milk and a delicious bottle of wine.
We feel we have found a Gem which we will most definitely return to.

My partner, dog and I had a really lovely stay at fox-up barn! The barn has been recently refurbished to a really high standard and is very well kitted out. the fire was lovely and the wifi was even better than our home wifi! It is very dog friendly with thoughtful touches like a stair gate, dog towel and bowels. The barn is very secluded and you truly feel like your in the heart of dales with plenty of walks on your doorstep. Cathy was an excellent host with great communication. I couldn't recommend the barn more!
What a well-equipped, cosy and peaceful place this is. We are familiar with the area having been regular walkers in and around the Dales, and Littondale in particular, for the previous 30 years. It was a bit of a last-minute decision to get away over the New Year and the priority was a peaceful location with a log burner - this little gem had both!
Fabulous location, and pretty much everything you could require in a kitchen from utensils to sharp knives. The whole place is spotlessly clean with a large bathroom too. The shower is very good. The TV is a smart one and provides access to Sky TV and various online streaming services, and there are also various board and card games available for entertainment.
Cathy is a very responsive and friendly host, who is keen to provide sufficient information to make your stay enjoyable. Please note there is no mobile phone signal here, but Whats App works well using the barn's WiFi connection.
Would we stay again?... Yes, without hesitation
